Set in the heart of the Essex countryside, House & Jackson is an independent, small animal and equine RCVS accredited Primary Care practice with Hospital status. Run by three Partners, all practicing vets, House & Jackson is located in the beautiful, rural setting of Blackmore, just outside of Chelmsford, about half an hour from London.
House & Jackson boasts the latest in diagnostic technology, and an in-house laboratory, enabling the fast turn-around of tests at a competitive cost. Facilities include a hydrotherapy unit, and spacious kennels and cattery, and a large equine operating theatre and stables. As a BEVA Approved AI Centre, House & Jackson also provide a comprehensive range of Stud and Artificial Insemination services.
As a RCVS approved Graduate Development Practice and a Veterinary Education Partner of the University of Surrey, we provide our students and newly qualified vets with a fully supported environment, nurturing and encouraging them to develop their skills under the guidance of our two VetGDP advisors and our dedicated team of experienced Vets and Vet nurses.

SMALL ANIMAL
Our small animal veterinary surgeons undertake all routine work such as vaccinations, microchipping, antiparasitics, repeat prescriptions, annual health checks and euthanasia. Regular consultations are held in practice or at a home visit. We also offer consultation appointment slots for reactive dogs when there are no other consultations taking place.
Surgery – all routine surgery, as well as non-routine soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures, under the guidance of our Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery, James Sutton
Diagnostic Imaging – digital radiography, video endoscopy, diagnostic ultrasound including doppler
Cardiology Diagnostics – under the direction of our Advanced Practitioner in Cardiology, Thomas Schulze
Stemcell Therapy - for the treatment of arthritis
Dental Treatment – in our dedicated x-ray suite
Therapeutic services – including Hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, laser
