Horse Clients
If your horse needs help urgently, please phone the following number:

During the day, a nurse or receptionist will answer your call and arrange for an Equine vet to see your horse.
In the evening and during the night, an automated message will ask you which vet you require. Press 1 for an Equine vet, and you will be redirected to the paging service.
Leave your message with the paging service operator which must include your name, horse's name, your telephone number and a brief description of the problem, and this will be forwarded to the Duty Vet who will endeavour to contact you as soon as possible.

Payment: Unless you have a previously arranged account with House & Jackson, you will need to make arrangements to pay at the time of the emergency service.
Small Animal Clients
If your animal needs help urgently, please phone the following number:

During the day, a nurse or receptionist will answer your call and arrange for a Small Animal vet to see your pet.

Our out-of-hours emergency care is now looked after by Vets Now in Witham. You can still call the usual number (above) for our practice and you will be put through. An automated message will ask you which vet you require. Press 2 for an Small Animal vet, and you will be redirected to Vets Now.

If your animal needs to see a vet out of hours you will need to take them to Vets Now in Witham: Spring Lodge Farm, Powers Hall End, Witham, CM8 2HG

Payment: You will need to pay for all treatment at the time of service other than in exceptional circumstances. If this is out of hours and your service is provided by Vets Now, they will bill you directly.
​
Visits: Home visits can be arranged only in exceptional circumstances, but these are rarely in the best interests of a sick animal who will have to be moved to the Hospital to receive effective treatment and simply delay access to the range of facilities we have at the Hospital.
