POSITION AIMED AT NEW GRADUATES

This role will provide clinical assistance to other vets. They will carry out protected clinical work within the Pet Clinic and the Horse Clinic, as well as being introduced to taking primary responsibility for cases. Role
The job is aimed at giving new graduates a sound foundation in all the key skill areas of Small Animal and Equine medicine and surgery, whilst in return providing the practice with continuity in veterinary staff and a valuable backup system. The position will be challenging and requires hard work, but will provide a very rewarding foundation to a veterinary career. It is certainly an ideal start for new graduates, wishing to pursue a career in equine or companion animal practice. The practice will provide guidance and expect high standards in clinical skills, client care and communication.
During the appointment, a Mentor, usually one of the Partners, will help with practical issues and be a constant point of guidance and advice. The Mentor will conduct regular reviews of progress, both informally in day-to-day contact and at formal reviews.

Location
House and Jackson Veterinary Hospital is based in the hamlet of Blackmore, Ingatestone in the countryside of Essex, South East of England. The city of Chelmsford is 10-minute drive away, with shopping, lively entertainment and rail links to heart of London in just 30 minutes. Stansted and Southend airports are within 30 minutes, with Dover ferry port only an hour away. Excellent road links to Cambridge and M25 and London. So, an excellent location with both busy town life and lovely quiet rural aspects of Essex.

Salary and benefits
The job is offered on a fixed term 12 month contract. Salary will be in the region of £23k per annum with living accommodation (including service charges) and a practice vehicle with locally purchased fuel supplied. There is a CPD allowance of 5 days and up to £1,000. The total package has an estimated worth of approximately £35k. Plus entitled to 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays, subject to rota requirements).
