Our nurses care for your pets when they are admitted toThe Pet Clinics
either as a day patient or when your pet is hospitalised. They ensure your pet
is well cared for and comfortable at all times, as well as ensuring that the
necessary medical treatment prescribed is carried out. They work with the Veterinary
Surgeon by assisting with operations, taking X-rays, nursing and monitoring our
patients, carrying out nurse clinics including hydrotherapy, taking blood samples
and running the practice laboratory out of hours. The are always on had to provide
you with help, advice and support. It is very much a team effort, providing support
for our vets as well as carrying out their own clearly defined roles.
Head Nurse
Julia Gordon RVN FAETC D32/33 MBVNA
Julia has worked at the practice for many years and heads our nursing team. She is responsible for their ongoing training, as well as day to day organisation. She is a qualified Assessor for our student nurses, and holds a teaching qualification in addition to her Veterinary Nursing Certificate.
Julia has previously been President of the British Veterinary Nursing Association

Katherine Hall RVN MBVNA
Katherine has been a key player in setting up our Hydrotherapy unit,
which is run by the nurses at our Blackmore clinic. She also assists
Julia by acting as mentor to our young Work Experience students,
the Vets and Nurses of the future.
