House & Jackson has been established since 1980. Good facilities, modern equipment, a comprehensive range of services and vets that continually update their skills are the minimum you require of a veterinary practice.

We still offer the good old fashioned caring and personal attention that you and your horse deserve.
   
Location

Our main Equine Clinic is at Blackmore, where we have both our Equine and Small Animal facilities. The practice covers most of Essex, East Hertfordshire and some of East London. We are happy to visit horses in these areas.

Appointments

Making an appointment could not be easier. Telephone
01277 823808 and speak to one of our friendly equine receptionists to book the vet of your choice to come and
see you and your horse when convenient.

More specialised work may need to be carried out at the clinic, and many clients prefer to travel to us in any case
to make use of our extensive facilities.

It is helpful for any visits and appointment requests to be phoned in before 9.30 as it makes it easier to organise the vet’s rounds and plan the routes to provide the service requested.

Surgery Hours & Equine Reception,

The Equine Reception is open between 8.15 am and 5.00 pm for routine enquiries and bookings.

Picking up drugs, routine admissions for hospitalisation or further treatment are possible between 8.00 am a and 7.30 pm during the week and between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm at the weekend.

Of course, any urgent enquiry will happily be dealt with and any emergency appointment or admission can be organised at ant time by simply ringing our normal reception number 01277 823808.

Please do not communicate requests for visits or emergencies by email. Use the telephone and speak to the receptionist.

Fees and Payment

To keep our fees as low as possible, we need to receive payment at the time of delivering the service. In return we offer a generous discount to our clients who pay us at the time (provided you have no other outstanding payments with us). We accept cash, cheques (supported with a card) and most major credit and debit cards. For some business clients and approved regular clients we may offer account facilities after credit search and partner approval. Insured cases may qualify to receive some treatment on account.   • Theatre /Padded Recovery Box with Pneumatic airbed and inhalation anaesthetic machine with the most up to date monitoring equipment.
  • B.E.V.A Approved artificial insemination (A.I.) centre
  • Turnout paddocks for mares, foals and convalescent patients
  • Rubber-surfaced riding arena, for performance testing, or to help diagnose locomotory problems.
  • Forge where our vets can work with your farrier, or our resident farrier can carry out surgical work.
  • Trot-up area and hard lungeing surface to assist in lameness diagnosis.

Equine Services

We have a full range of services available including -
